Welcome 2012! This year I've decided that I'm going to SAVE to pay off my DEBT. I've been seeing and reading about all these great deals you can get with coupons so I jumped on the bandwagon and decided to give it a try. And guess what? I've been saving a lot more money than I usually would when I purchase regular items such as groceries, medicine, beauty products, home supplies, etc.

I am literally OBSESSED with couponing. I wish I would have done this long ago but hey... it's never too late. I started couponing almost 3 weeks ago and I've seen a difference in my bank account. I've encountered some great deals and have walked out the store with paying less than $2 for items that would have totaled up to be $20+. Now that's an amazing savings!

Of course couponing does take time. You have to get coupons, check out your local store deals (Target, Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, Safeway, etc.), compare deals, strategize, organize, and make a list with coupons included so you are ready when you arrive at the store.

Thankfully, there are coupon blogs out there that help tremendously. I'm constantly checking out www.thekrazycouponlady.com, www.tipresource.com, www.hip2save.com and many more. Those blogs break it down to you and tell you what products are on sale and what coupons to use and where you can get the coupons. If you are a beginner check the blogs mentioned and check YouTube. I've learned a lot and I'm still learning. Always wait for the best deal because you never know... you might get those items for FREE! I'll be posting up some of the amazing deals I've encountered soon.

It's that time of the month... MY FAVORITES FOR DECEMBER...

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE CANDLES! I find them so relaxing and they put me in such a good mood. The one pictured above is from Bath and Body Works. I love the way it smells... so pina-colada-ish.

On to the beauty products...

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup in Shell Beige - great foundation for full coverage.
Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy palette - Shimmery neutrals and a pop of color; it also includes a Whiskey (dark brown) eyeliner.
Maybelline The Falsies mascara - separates my lashes and gives them length, so far I'm liking it.
Korres Lip Butter Glaze in Jasmine - A great lip product for the winter and chapped lips. It has a pinkish tint but when I apply it, it looks clear. Provides great moisture for my dry lips.
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer in Medium - Great coverage. A little goes a long way and it is quite moisturizing without leaving you with cakey under eye. And only $6 :)
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo - I can't get enough of this product. I want more!
Urban Decay lipgloss in Midnight Cowboy - This came with the UD palette mentioned above. It's a neutral shimmery gloss that cools and plumps your lips. Love it!

I don't have anything negative to say about this mascara. I absolutely love it. I hope they have a waterproof one because I can use this one in the summer as well.

Christmas Tree Lighting - SF

Christmas trees are lighting up everywhere and yesterday, 11/29/11, the building I work at had their annual tree lighting with special guests, Pia Toscano (American Idol, Season 10), pop singer Andy Grammar, and 49ers Running Back Frank Gore. The event benefits Autism Speaks which is the world’s largest autism science and advocacy organization. I had a really great time watching Pia and Andy perform. They sang Christmas songs and really put us all in the holiday spirit. To all my 49er fans, Frank Gore came up on stage and threw autographed footballs to the crowd. Unfortunately, I was too short to catch one lol. I did get to say hello, take a picture, and get his autograph.

November Favorites 2011

Yes, I know it's been awhile since I posted again but I thought I'd share with you my favorites for this month. So here they go...

Juicy Couture Perfume – I love this smell! It’s the perfect soft scent for fall/winter.

Proclaim Tea Tree Leave-in Conditioner – It helps with tangles, refreshes my scalp, and leaves my hair on my head and not in my comb!!

Carmex Lip Balm – I can’t get enough of this! It is great for this cold weather in SF.

Maybelline FIT Foundation in 310 – This is a light/medium coverage foundation and leaves my oily/acne prone skin feeling smooth and not greasy-looking. Great product for super cheap.

MAC Blush in Prim & Proper (Limited Edition from Give me Liberty of London collection) - This is like a neutral nude/muave color. I'm liking it for fall/winter.

Estee Lauder Day Wear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme w/SPF 15 - The name of the product says it all! I like that it moisturizes my skin without making it feel or look oily. It makes my skin feel soft and it doesn't break me out. I also love the smell of it :)

Estee Lauder Sumptuos Mascara in Black - This baby makes my lashes long and full with no clumpiness. It looks like I'm wearing fake lashes and many people compliment them. This is a great mascara and is definitely an all time favorite.

MAC Fanfare Lipstick - perfect pink-mauve color and it's a cremesheen!

My thoughts:

I’ve been using this product for a little over a month and I can honestly say that this product is great for my oily-acne prone skin. At first, I wasn’t so sure about the foam-type cleanser because I thought that it wouldn’t really clean my face. However, after washing my face with this product, my skin feels so clean, refreshed, and soft. I also use the Rounded Handle Facial Brush from the Body Shop about twice a week to really cleanse my skin. It helps loosen dead skin cells and impurities to get a more radiant complexion. As far as getting rid of blemishes, I don’t see that happening because I still break out here and there, but I do see that my blemishes are slowly diminishing and I don’t have major breakouts like before. With skincare, it’s always trial and error. And remember, what works for me, may not work for you.

***UPDATE*** After 3 weeks, I stopped using the Tea Tree line because I wasn't seeing any improvement on my skin/blemishes.

Current Obsessions - March + April

I thought I'd share what products I've been using on a daily basis for the past 2 months or so.

Lately, my cuticles have been so stubborn and dry. I use cuticle oil at home but decided to purchase Burt's Bees cuticle cream to carry around with me and apply some on the go. According to the box it says it is "a soothing blend of natural ingredients to nourish weak nails and soften dry cuticles." The smell is amazing and very energizing.

Why didn't I ever get my hands on this lippie before?!!
Mac's Fanfare lipstick is a cremesheen and is mid-tone pink color that is just perfect! I have found the perfect pink/berryish color for my tanned skin-tone. Love, love, love!

MAC Coppertone blush is a peachy-brown matte color and one of my favorite blushes to wear in the Spring/Summer. It just gives my skin that extra tan-glow that I love.

MAC's Evening Aura e/s is a light peachy color with gold reflects. I've been using this e/s everyday! On my lids, inner corner, and as a highlight. It's such a great color.

MAC's Prep and Prime is a wonderful product that helps keep the my t-zone from getting oily throughout the day and it also helps keep my makeup lasting longer. I've been using this with the product below and it's working just great!

MAC's Studio Moisture Tint in Dark is a tinted moisturizer that I purchased when I went to Hawaii and ever since then (to maintain my tan) I've fallen in love. I hope to have a review soon of this product.

Two weeks ago my daughter, Destiny, turned 5 years old and to celebrate I took her to Disneyland. Let me just say... she was ecstatic!!!! And so was I. The look on her face when we arrived was priceless. I love my baby girl!! Here are a few pics from the weekend.

Hawaii - Pic Heavy

I went to Hawaii at the end of March and I had an amazing time. My friend had an itinerary ready for us and every day we were doing an activity. The weather was great and you bet I got a tan!

Huanama Bay - We came here to go snorkeling but it was kind of cold so we didn't stay in the water for long.

I just wanted to lay out on the beach and relax.

Unlimited Mai Tai's and an 8 mile cruise was just what I needed to get the party started :)

At the Luau - It was an amazing experience. Definitely a must-do if you ever go to Hawaii.

We had just gotten off the canoe ride.

And finally, I got to see my friend who just moved out to Hawaii.

If you decide to visit Hawaii, make sure you visit Giovanni's Shrimp Truck located in North Shore. They have the best shrimp ever!!!!

I love Hawaii. It's definitely not a place I'd live in but would love to visit the other islands and enjoy the sun and beautiful ocean.

In exactly 2 weeks I'll be laying out in the warm, white sand, sipping on some cocktails and enjoying the beach. I have never been to Hawaii and I'm super excited.

This year, one of my New Year's Resolution was to travel. Whether it was an hour away or 1000's of miles away... I want to experience a new place, enjoy it, and take plenty of pictures.

REVIEW: Benefit Boi-ing Concealer

Wowzers! I can't believe it's March already. Time sure does fly by.

So, I was looking for a concealer that will help cover up my dark circles because lately they have gotten worse (must be my lack of sleep and financial stress). I finished up my MAC Studio Concealer and the Benefit Paste in Medium which has an orange/peachy tint that helps cover up dark circles really well. However, I thought I'd try something different. So for the past 2 weeks I've been using Benefit's Boi-ing Concealer in Medium.

What it claims:
According to benefitcosmetics.com, this concealer camouflages dark circles, shadow, and discoloration for a seamless, natural-looking finish without creasing or fading.

My Opinion:
It's quite creamy and helps brighten up my under eye but doesn't really cover up my dark circles like other concealers I've used. It also settles into fine lines and when I use powder to set my concealer it looks cakey. It's not long-lasting and I find myself having to apply it throughout the day. I really wanted to love this product but it's not doing what its suppose to do - conceal my dark circles!! So I've decided to use this product to conceal blemishes and brighten the under eye area instead.

Review: Garnier Moisture Rescue

I've been using this moisturizer for almost 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it! Let me start of by letting you know my skin type. I have oily to combination skin. I mostly get oily on my forehead, nose, and cheeks. I also have acne-prone skin. It's hard to find a face lotion that won't add to my oily-ness or one that won't over-dry my skin or irritate my acne.

On to the product description...

According to the box, it locks-in moisture, blocks-out dryness and provides UV protection leaving the skin deeply hydrated and smooth for 24 hours.

*Non-comedogenic - won't clog pores

*Gentle to skin

*Allergy tested

*Non-greasy

*UV Protection - SPF 15

It's formula is a combination of Grape Water Extract (antioxidant power defends skin from external aggressors), Apple Water Extract (maintains skin's moisture barrier) and Vitamin E (soothes and conditions skin).

Results so far...

I use this lotion every day in the morning. I apply it to my face and neck. Once applied, it feels lightweight, non-greasy, refreshing, and penetrates into my skin without feeling greasy or sticky. It also smells amazing! My skin feels smooth and hydrated and most importantly, it doesn't make me look oily. It's a great moisturizer and great for prepping your face for some makeup application. The price is very decent. It ranges from $5-8 (sometimes you can find it on sale at your local CVS).

January 2011 Favorites

Helloooo,

It's been quite a long time since I've done a favorites post so I thought I'd kick off the year with my January faves.

Check it....

1. Lancome Quad - The colors in this quad are as follows:

Top left to right: Dirty Pink (sheen pink color) and Daylight (matte white); Bottom left to right: Couture (intense dark plum) and Bikini Golden (shimmer gold) - I have been loving this quad. Great for everyday wear and you can do quite a few color combos with this one. The colors are very pigmented with exception to Daylight and they blend so well.

2. LORAC Radiant highlight powder - This is my HG highlight. I use this on my cheekbones for a nice glow and on my browbone for a nice highlight.

3. MAC Peachstock l/s - This was from the Liberty of London collection and is a great peachy nude color. It is a Satin finish and very pigment; a little goes a long way. (see swatch below)

4. Lancome Timeless Cream l/s - I found this lipstick in my moms makeup bag and when I applied it, I fell in love. It's like a reddish/burnt brown color and is very creamy. I like to wear this on days when I don't have time to glam up my eyes. (see swatch below)

5. Ion Volumizing Root Lift - This is a volume boosting spray foam and right now I need it. My hair has been so flat and dull but once I use this baby I get a little "oomph" and my hair looks a lot fuller. It smells very good too.

6. Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara - So far I'm liking this mascara but I have to apply like 3 coats to get my lashes looking full and long. The wand is a bit big for my little eyes but I got used to it.

7. MAC Plushglass in Wildly Lush - This is a plumping gloss and the color is a light nude. When I put it on it looks clear with a tint of biege/peach. And it tastes like Vanilla :)

8. Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom body butter - I love this scent! I use this on my hands, elbows, and knees.

9. Garnier Moisture Rescue lotion - I've been using this product for the past 2 weeks and it moisturizes my skin without feeling oily.

10. Bath & Body Works Sleep Pillow Mist - I've been extremely busy with work and quite stressed that it's been difficult to go to sleep. I spray a little bit of this and the scent of Lavender is very calming and in a way it enhances my sleep.

NARS Melusine

I went to Sephora today to use a coupon of $15 off a purchase of $40 or more. I ended up purchasing the Nars e/s duo in Melusine. It is such a gorgeous duo.

Check it out...

The silver-ish color reminds me of Satin Taupe from MAC and it glides on so smoothly.

The dark purple color is really matte but reminds me a bit of MAC Plum Dressing without the shimmer.

I can't wait to slap these colors on my eyelids.

If only these babies weren't $32 a piece, I'd get more.

My All-Time Fave

AROZ CON LECHE!
(aka rice with milk)

This is what people call Spanish Rice Pudding. It's a yummy desert or snack that is filled with lots of flavor. There are many variations on how to make Aroz con Leche. Some people eat it hot or cold, make it watery like a drink or make it thick like pudding.

Unfortunately, I've failed many times in making it so I have my lovely mother make it. And I absolutely love it!!!

Main ingredients are:
Rice
Milk
Cinnamon sticks or powdered cinnamon
Sugar - brown sugar canes or regular sugar

Optional:
Raisins
Lemon or Orange peel for a zest of flavor

It is quite easy to prepare but the biggest mistake seems to be not stirring the rice and milk mixture every minute or two to make sure that the rice doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot, and keeping the heat down very low to avoid burning it.

The times I've tried making it, I've burned it :( So I leave it to my mom to make it.

E.L.F Seductive lipstick

This is one of the very first E.L.F lipsticks I've tried and I must say I am very happy with this product. I chose the color Seductive which is a pinkish-berry color. It is non-drying on the lips, very pigmented, and smells like berries! I've been wearing this a lot with some clear gloss on top or a light pinkish gloss. If you haven't tried any of the E.L.F lippies I suggest you give them a shot. For $1 a piece, you can't go wrong. I will definitely be picking some more of these lipsticks.

So I finally decided to put some color on my eye lids. I've been doing the "no-makeup face" for awhile because I work out during lunch hour and hate it when my makeup is smearing down my face and dripping onto my neck. *gross but true*

I am currently loving my life and I'm very content with where I stand. Yes, I can always make more money, and yes, I can lose a little bit more weight but overall, I am happy with who I am and who I've become.

The SF Giants won the World Series. The last time they won a World Series was in 1957 and this was when they were the NY Giants. About time we won... I'm just so happy!!

It's unbelievable how the Bay Area has reacted towards this victory! There's so much black and orange and SF love. It's absolutely amazing! I'm so glad to have experienced this and to live in SF.

Black and Orange balloons were decorated on every street corner.

The horse was spray painted with SF.

The madness!!! It was just incredibly packed. I think over half a million people attended the SF Giants Parade. I was in that crowd and took me 20 minutes to cross to the other side. I felt like I was going to die. Glad I made it back to the office in one piece ;)

Weekend Recap

DESTINATION:

Arata Pumpkin Farm

Half Moon Bay, CA

On Saturday, I decided to take my daughter to the pumpkin patch out in Half Moon Bay. If you've ever been there you know that there are many pumpkin farms. These are filled with fun activities such as a maze, face painting, shows, small petting zoos, haunted barns, and small play areas for kids. It's great for spending some time with family and friends.

Now on to the some pics....

Took a quick pic of the hay maze they created. Every year there is a different design. It took us about 30-40 minutes to figure it out. It was a lot of fun but at times it got me frustrated because I felt like we were going in circles. I think this will be a lot more fun and scary at night.

They had pony riding and Des had a great time. I wish I was able to ride a pony but they said I was too heavy... Hmmm wonder if they meant to say I was fat!!! lol

I had a great weekend! The 49ers lost but the SF Giants won!!!

Tomorrow is back to the 9 to 5.... BOOOOOOOO!

Wet-N-Wild Lippies

After reading many blogs and tweets about how great Wet-N-Wild cosmetics were I figure I'd see what all the fuss was about. I went to my local Walgreens because they were having a 50% off on some Wet-N-Wild products. When I got to the store, the Wet-N-Wild section was practically empty. I was able to pick up the 3 lipsticks.

903C- Just Peachy: It is a lovely peachy color

901B- Think Pink: A bubble gum pink

902C- Bare It All: A darker peachy pink color

They are similar to MAC lipsticks but waaaay cheaper!

I got these babies for $1.29 and will definitely be purchasing more Wet-N-Wild products.

Weekend Recap

DESTINATION: Napa, CA

This past weekend I went to Napa to relax and enjoy some sun. I stayed at the Westin Verasa and it is a beautiful hotel. I loved it! We lounged around in the pool area, had a few cocktails and appetizers, relaxed, and enjoyed the sun.

For dinner, we went to Morimoto which is a new Sushi place in downtown Napa.

The atmosphere was great and the decor in this place was fabulous.

It's such a nice fancy place to have sushi with your significant other or girlfriends.

Currently I've been using some products more than others...

I have quite a bit of beauty items and try to use them so they don't sit around collecting dust...

Let's get started.

(In no particular order)

1. Tresemme Dry Shampoo - love this product!! I only wash my hair 3x a week and this product comes in handy... it smells pretty good too!

2. Nars Casino/Sin duo - Great bronzer and blush for everyday use but a little goes a long way.

3. MAC Femme Fi e/s - Been using this as a highlighter and I absolutely love how it gives my face a glow.

4. Sephora flat brush - Use this to apply my highlighter and it blends so well.

5. Sephora Blotting Papers - Need this to get the oily's away from my nose and forehead.

6. Sephora by OPI nail polish in *can't remember the name and don't have it with me at the moment* but it's a great nude color.

7. Benefit Smoking Eyes kit - This baby goes with me everywhere. It has 3 e/s, an eyebrow wax and highligher. Also comes with a mini brush, eyeliner, and cute little tweezers. The best kit ever!!

8. MAC HK Tinted Lip Conditioner in Pink Fish - Just a tad bit of color on my lips and I'm good to go.

9. BareMinerals Mineral Veil - great setting powder to keep my face from melting.

10. MD Skincare All-in-One Tinted Moisturizer - Love Love Love this product!!! Its great for the hot weather or when you don't want to much coverage on your face! Use this mostly on the weekends when I'm out and about. It has SPF 15 too!!! Purchased this at Sephora for $8...what a bargain!

Estee Lauder Day Wear Plus moisturizer, MUFE HD finishing powder, MAC 130 brush (love it to apply my foundation), and Lancome Tient Idole Fresh Wear foundation (the best ever!)

Body Shop Sweet Lemon whip body lotion and Sweet Lemon body scrub.

The smell is so yummy and helps you wake up in the mornings. It also makes my skin silky smooth like a baby's butt :)

Finally my HG lipgloss is MACs Perennial High Style from the Liberty of London collection. It is such a great peachy pink color. I should have purchased a back up. Oh wells!

P.S. I didn't talk much about the face creme and foundation because I will be posting a review shortly.

I apologize for my lack of posts but I have been so busy lately. I joined soccer this summer and it's been taking up a lot of my time. I enjoy playing and it also keeps me fit which is a GREAT thing.

On another note, I've recently reunited with an old friend who has always been like a sister to me. After a year of not talking, we've gotten so much closer and I'm very happy we are friends again.

I don't know which is worse, being the one with the broken heart or being the person that broke his heart.

Too often we don't realize what we have until it's gone... too often we wait too long to say "I'm sorry, I was wrong."

The trouble with so many of us is that we underestimate the power of simplicity. We have a tendency to over complicate our lives and forget what's important and what's not. We tend to mistake movement for achievement. We tend to focus on activities instead of results. And as the pace of life continues to race along in the outside world, we forget that we have the power to control our lives regardless of what's going on outside.

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. I've done my share of mistakes. I've cried and have been living with regrets but I realized that I can't go on living this way. I have to move on and accept the damage I've caused.

Sometimes we need to stop analyzing the past - stop planning the future - stop figuring out precisely how we feel - stop deciding with our mind exactly what we want our heart to feel - sometimes we just have to go with the flow.

It hurts to see someone you love ignoring you, it also hurts to see that he doesn't feel your love. But it hurts even more to know that he loves you too, and just doesn't want you to know. Maybe he's doing the same thing as I am... maybe he wants so bad to call me, but just won't because I haven't called him... then again, maybe I shouldn't fill myself with false hopes that he might just be missing me like I'm missing him. It's so hard to deal with the pain of losing someone, knowing that you lost them because you chose to let go. I've learned that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for a lifetime.

Wanting him is hard to forget, loving him is hard to regret, losing him is hard to accept, but even with all the hurt I've felt, letting go is the most painful yet. I can't seem to let go. They say letting go will ease the pain but it seems that the harder I try...the harder I fall.

However, letting go of someone doesn't mean you have to stop loving them, it only means that you allow that person to find his own happiness without expecting him to come back. That's the reality of it yet the most painful thing to accept.

Life doesn't hurt until you have time to yourself to think about how things have changed, who you've lost along the way, and how much of it is your fault. I needed that time to myself to realized how much I loved this guy. Yet, I caused this...I did the damage...I hurt the person that loved me and would have given me the world...It's my fault. And because of it, I possibly lost him forever.

Ladies, when you find yourself a good man, show him that you love him, show him that he means everything to you. When you are unsure whether it is love that you feel for him, take some time apart. Make sure you are honest and open and let him know how you're really feeling. Once that time has past, you'll know whether it is love. And once you know, your love will only grow stronger. Don't let the outside world influence you, don't let stress control you. Remember, he is there for you and he will always understand.

This is my love lesson. A hard and painful lesson learned. I know we've all been through it at some point in our lives, some more than once, but we have to remember that life brings us experiences (good and bad) and most importantly people who will make a big impact in your life. Remember that love is a powerful emotion...one that can break you down and tear your heart into pieces or bring you up and fill your life with happiness. Take the time to appreciate your significant other...let them know how much you love and care about them. You never know what tomorrow brings. Let's make the best out of the present and look forward to the future.

As for me, I'm staying strong. For the past month, I've cried my lil eyes out...I've done some crazy things, all for love. I learned that time and patience are key and if that person really loves you and is willing to forgive you and give you another chance, he'll come back. And once he does, don't take advantage of it. Instead, show them that they made the right choice by coming back. Show them all the love in the world that you didn't get a chance to show him the first time around.

Relationships are hard...but once you've found your true love...keep him. Don't make the same mistake I did.

I dedicate this post to the guy I was with...to the guy who made my life complete and made me happy...to the guy I hurt unintentionally...to the guy who I love and will continue to love... This is for you. I know there aren't any guarantee's in life but I'm still holding on. I'm looking forward to the day you return and accept me with open arms.

LIP PRODUCTS

MAC 2N Lipglass (LE) - This gloss is a peachy nude or beige peach color similar to Florabundance but not too pale. I like to pair it with Brave New Bronze lipstick but most of the time I wear it on its own.

MAC Brave New Bronze (LE) - This lipstick is a combo of beige, peach, pink color and it is my all time fave! I think it's the perfect nude-ish for Olive/Tanned skin tones.

MAC A Rose Romance (LE) - This lipstick is a cool baby pink color that looks very natural. It is great for every day wear and will look good on any skin tone.

BLUSH

MAC Spaced Out (LE) - My all time favorite peachy, pink with gold reflects blush! This gives me the perfect peachy flush and brightens up my face. Love to wear this on sunny days.

MAC Mocha - This is like a muted pink/plum color and I tend to wear this blush almost everyday. It gives me that natural looking flush of color.

EYESHADOWS

MAC Woodwinked - My all time fave e/s!!! It's the perfect goldish/copperish/brownish color that works well with so many e/s combos.

MAC Femme Fi (LE) - This is a great highlight color. It reminds me of Ricepaper and that was my HG highlighter or all over lid color until I finished it.

HAIR

L'Oreal Studio Heat Seeker Straightening Cream - This is great because not only does it help with fizz control but it protects my hair from the heat. I love 2 in 1 products. They make life a lot more simple.

FRAGRANCE

Versace Bright Crystal - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!!! I was on the hunt for a great smelling perfume that I can wear on the weekends or to work and this is it! I can't describe the scent but go smell it at your nearest perfume store.

Introducing the LSAT

I've been really focused on studying for the LSAT exam coming up in June so I have not had any time to blog. I miss the blog world!!!! This exam is no joke and for those who don't know what LSAT stands for it is The Law School Admission Test. I have decided to pursue my dream of becoming an attorney and with that comes a mass amount of studying and no social life. I feel like I don't have any time to do anything other than study. I study 6 days a week!!! I better do great in this exam! But I know that my hard work and effort in studying will pay off in the end.

I think once I have finished this exam, I will be free to blog as much as I want! LOL.

BTW, I picked up the iPad. It's great. Hmm...possible blog post on that.

Review - MAC Taupe Impeccable Brow Pencil

I purchased the MAC Impeccable Brow Pencil in the color Taupe last month and have fallen in love with this product. The color Taupe is somewhat of a gray/brown/black color and is great for brunette's. Before, I was using MAC's brow shader in Walnut, which was a chocolate/reddish brown color. It did the job but I felt that my eyebrows looked a little too dark at times.

I always wanted to try a eyebrow pencil from MAC but never got around to trying one. My mom owns the eyebrow pencil in Lingering but it is like a pen and a creamy. I think that one is great for those who don't have much of a brow and have to create one. The Impeccable brow pencil is not as creamy and is great to define and fill in my brows just enough. It provides a natural matte finish without my eyebrows looking too dark or penciled in. Here is a pic of my brows looking oh, so natural!!!

I like how it's in a pencil form and I don't have to carry around my brow shader and angled brush anymore. I just put this baby in my makeup bag and I'm ready to go.

Hey everyone,

So here are a few items I've purchased before lent. I also attended a MAC Studio talk class this past Sunday and it was based on the Spring Trend. It was pretty interesting. On to the things I've purchased....BTW, I haven't tried/played much with any of the items yet but as soon as I do I'll give you my thoughts on these products.

Top recommended foods include – Broccoli, Spinach, Avocado, Chili Pepper, Sugarsnap Peas, Zucchini, Asparagus, Beetroot. Chicken or turkey breast, cod fish and balsamic vinegar. The lunchbox diet is designed to prevent individuals from binging at meal times by encouraging you to eat healthy snacks every hour or so. I think this diet works for those who feel the need to snack all day and don't have time to eat a healthy lunch.

I'm not sure if this diet will work out for me because I already use a meal replacement shake for breakfast and dinner. I guess I can drink my shake in the AM, snack through out the day, and have a healthy dinner.

If most of you follow me on Twitter...then you must know that I was super close to my fave person in the world...Kim Kardashian!!! I happened to be in Vegas when she was hosting a party @ Lavo in the Palazzo. It was an amazing night. Here are a few pix I was able to take without going all paparazzi on her. LOL. Weight Loss Randomness

I decided that starting tomorrow, I'll be going to the gym early morning, Monday - Thursday. My work out plan will consist of mostly running. I really need to get in shape for the summer and it's time to start. No more excuses and no more junk food!!! Once I start my LSAT classes, I won't have as much time...so til then I have to get my butt out of bed/chair/floor and do the damn thing!!!

Getting fit...starts in a few hours!!!

Sorry for my lack of post. I've been away so busy with work and spending time away from the computer during weekends. So let me start off by letting you know what is up with my weight loss. Since the QT 14 day diet system, I currently weight 140lbs. I guess I gained a pound but I've been maintaining it for the most part. My Vegas vacation is in 3 days!!! I am super excited but would have wanted to be down at 135lbs by then. I doubt I could lose 5lbs in 3 days!!! However, as long as I'm able to maintain my weight then I'm happy with that. Once I get back from my mini vacation I will start my weight loss/healthy living journey.

Btw, Congrats to the SAINTS!!!!

My thoughts on V-Day

For quite some time, I've never actually celebrated Valentine's day. Honestly, ever since high school. I remember the candy and balloon grams and they even had singing grams in which someone would pick a "romantic" song and a "singing crew" would sing it to you during class. It was very romantic and I would even buy myself my own Valentine's grams just to feel special (kinda silly now that I think about it). I also remember walking down the hallways at school and seeing all these pink and red hearts everywhere. I loved it!! However, after high school I never saw pink and red again.

For some reason, I just havent' been in the spirit of celebrating Valentine's day. I ask myself "Why celebrate Valentine's day with your significant other or friends when you can celebrate it any day?" Why should there be just one day to get dressed up, have a nice romantic dinner, recieve flowers and chocolate, and see the beautiful decor of red, pink, and white hearts? Does Valentine's day make it more romantic? Seriously, restaurants are jam packed with couples having a "romantic dinner" when they can go out and celebrate it any other day of the year. Why is it that women recieve flowers or chocolates or diamonds on Valentine's day? Men, why can't you send your lady some love other than Valentine's day?

Then you have those who don't have a special someone in their life. They are down at the fact that they don't have a Valentine. Now, who the eff cares. If celebrating Valentine's day is what you want to do, then do it! Even if it's by your self. I feel as if we "need" to have a Valentine so we don't feel lonely on such holiday. But really tho, why do we need someone to make us feel as if we are special?

For all my single people out there, enjoy your day, everyday, and spoil yourself from time to time. Go to a fancy restaurant, get yourself some flowers, chocolates, or a spa treatment and make yourself feel special because you are special!!!! Ain't no need to celebrate Valentine's day because you can celebrate LOVE day any day!!!

For all those that have a significant other, I guess Valentine's day just makes it official to go out there and do a lil extra for your significant other. If so, do what you gotta do. Look for that perfect Valentine's day card, fill the bed with rose petals, wear something sexy, spend a great amount of money on food and little special treats. Make Valentine's day meaningful to you and enjoy it with your boo!!!

I just felt like sharing my view and opinions on Valentine's Day. Many of you may feel different about it and I completely respect that. Again this is just my 2 cents on this lovely pink, red, and white Holiday! Hmm...maybe they should call it that instead. LOL.

QT Diet Completed!

Hey everyone,

I apologize for the delay in my QT updates but I've been really bad with it. For the last 5 days or so I've been taking my pills but not exercising at all. And I haven't been drinking enough water.

I finished the 14-day system yesterday. And my weigh was 139lbs. That's a total of 10lbs lost in 14 days!!!! I know I could have lost more if I would have exercised at least 30 min. during the day, if I would have drank more water, and if I had stayed away from McDonalds, pizza, and other junk. Aaaaaah!! But I'm glad that I lost those stubborn 10lbs. Now all I have to do is lose another 5lbs and maintain that weight.

A couple of days before my Vegas trip I'm going to try that QT 48 hrs. Super Diet Detox. I hope I can get rid of any excess water weight and get that "fat" out of my system by going doo-doo. LOL.

Thanks to all of you who have left me comments and supporting me through this diet system. It really means a lot to me.

*Philosophy – On a Clear Day, Oil Free Acne Spot Treatment – I apply this on a stubborn pimple that grew over night or has been sitting on my face for a couple days.

*Smashbox Photo Finish Primer – I'm really not liking this stuff. I still get oilies throughout the day.

*MAC Medium Dark natural/shimmer MSF (powder and highlighter duo)

QT Diet - Day 9 & 10

Day 9 - 20 min. jog in the AM, 15 min. squats and abs work out in the PM

Breakfast - a cup of coffee

Snack - a banana

Lunch - Spaghetti and Meatballs (only ate half of it b/c I felt full, the rest will be for next day's lunch)

Snack - None (well munched on some candy)

Dinner - None, I was so full from lunch. Oh and I also had a few cheese Dorrito's.

Day 10 - No exercise at all. I overslept and got home super late b/c I was doing errands after work.

Breakfast - Smoothie - peach low fat yogurt, almond milk, banana, and some strawberries.

Snack - None

Lunch - Left over spaghetti w/meatballs but didn't finish it b/c I was feeling naseaus (probably ate too fast)

Snack - Special K Chocolate protein bar

Dinner - some grilled chicken w/ white rice and veggies

I feel so bad that I didn't get a chance to exercise. And here I am typing away when I could be doing some leg lifts while I'm laying on the floor. Uggh...I'm making up for it tomorrow. BTW, on DAY 10 I started taking the Iso-Flush pills. These help remove excess water from under the skin. You are suppose to take 2 pills once you wake up in the morning. I didn't feel any different. I thought maybe I'd go pee-pee a lot more but nope. We'll see tomorrow.

I'm almost done with this system. Can't wait to weight myself at the end of this diet.

QT Diet - Day 7 & 8

Day 7 - 45 min. exercise in the AM (walk/jog) and 30 min. exercise in the PM (lunges, squats, abs)
Breakfast - Cup of coffee (wasn't really hungry)
Snack - Kellog's Cereal Bar
Lunch - Nachos

Dinner - Black Angus: New York steak, loaded backed potatoes, and much more. (So bad for my diet but tasted sooo good!)

Day 8 - 30 min. exercise in the AM (walk/jog) and no PM exercise.
Breakfast - blueberry pancakes with fresh blueberries on top and some maple syrup and a cup of coffee (yummy!!!)
Snack - None
Lunch- None
Snack - Some ruffles (bbq flavor) and a half cup of Blueberry margarita (tasted like sangria)
Dinner - Leftover's from Black Angus

I know it was bad of me on Day 7 not to have breakfast but I already knew that I was going to eat @ Black Angus so I didn't want to stuff myself with a lot of calories. On Day 8 I didn't snack or have lunch because of the big breakfast that my babe made for me. Then I was munching on some chips and sippin' on some alcohol (it doesn't say anything about not drinking alcohol; it only says no caffeine since the pills already contain caffeine). Then the leftover's from Black Angus was yummy and filling. I seriously felt so stuffed...and that is not good. I didn't go "doo-doo" much either. I'm thinking it was the lack of water/fluids. But the weekend is over and now it's time to drink my gallon of water!!!

Keep posted for the rest of the week...It's almost over!!! BTW, as of 1/24/2010 I weight 140lbs!!!!! I'm hoping that by the 14th day I'm down to 135lbs. *crossing fingers*

QT Diet - Day 5 & 6

Breakfast - Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich (wheat bread)

Snack - Oatmeal

Lunch - Buttered Squash, Mahi Mahi (fish) with some green mashed potatoes and broccolini

Snack - None

Dinner - A lil bit of homemade chicken soup

Day 6 - 15 min exercise in AM and No PM exercise.

Breakfast - Two Wheat Toast w/ American Cheese.

Snack - half a donut (very bad, I know)

Lunch - Progresso Veggie soup

Snack - Apple

Dinner - Cereal w/ low fat milk

I really need to get myself to exercise more. I just don't have time. I wake up late in the morning and try to squeeze in some exercise such as sit ups, lunges, and squats. When I get home from work my daughter wants a lot of attention so again I can't exercise. I try to go out for a jog but it's been cold and raining in SF. This weekend I will make an effort to work out a lot more.

Also, in Days 1-3 I wrote that I felt nauseous and I did. However, I realized that taking the 2 AM pills early morning before breakfast or before your workout (as noted on the directions) made my tummy ache, feel bubbly, and felt like puking. Now, I take the 2 AM pills in between breakfast and lunch, then the other 2 AM pills in between lunch and dinner (this hasn't changed). Ever since I've been taking the first 2 AM pills in between breakfast and lunch I've felt a lot better...no more nauseous feeling!!!

Remember, these pills are cleansers so expect a lot of "doo-doo" during the day and night! LOL.

Weight Loss - Day 3 and 4

I lost 4.5lbs in 3 days!!!!

My first weigh in was 149lbs. Yesterday I weight 144.5lbs.

I'm sooo happy!

This QuickTrim Diet is working!!!

Here's the deal...

Day 3 - I ate and did about 45 min. of exercise.

15 min. in the AM and 30 min. in the PM.

Breakfast - Wheat toast w/peanut butter

Snack - None

Lunch - Chicken burrito from Chipotle w/ black beans, rice, corn, sour cream, and cheese!!

Snack - Banana w/Yogurt

Dinner - Cucumber with salt and lemon

Since I had a HUGE lunch I kept it low-key with Dinner.

Day 4 - Didn't do much exercise and was so stressed @ work.

No AM exercise and 30 min. walk/jog in the PM.

Breakfast - Cookies and Cream Milkshake w/low fat milk

Snack - None

Lunch - 1.5 cup of white rice and some steak with fresh salsa

Snack - A few cheezits

Dinner - 2 eggs and some beef chowmein (I just couldn't resist those greasy looking noodles)

Today, I was super stressed at work. I was stuck in a long meeting and when I got out of it I had 3o min. to finish up the work I was working on. At times I feel like I work too much and I don't get paid enough. But with times like this, I'm just thankful I have a job. Due to the stress and being stuck in a meeting for 2.5 hrs...I didn't have time to snack.

NOTE: I drink plenty of water through out the day...I would say like 8-10 glasses!

Again, this diet is also a CLEANSER!!!

So trust when I say I go doo-doo like 4 times a day!!! =)

BTW, I don't have a scale so I won't know if I lost any weight til the weekend.

Mascara Review - Blinc

For Christmas, my co-worker gave me "BLINC" mascara. I tried it out and this is my personal opinion on it.

What it Claims: According to what it says on the tube, Blinc is the original mascara invented to form tiny water resistant "tubes" around your lashes rather than painting them like the conventional mascaras. Once applied, the tubes bind to your lashes and cannot run, smudge, clump, or flake, even if you cry or rub your eyes. Blinc mascara will add both volume and length to give you a radiant natural look that lasts all day. Only when you are ready for removal, the tubes will effortlessly slide off your lashes into your hand without the use of harsh makeup remover. Ideal for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

The Good: Great waterproof mascara, will not smudge!!! Gives you length!

The Bad: Does not provide volume, makes my eyelashes clump if you put more than one coat. It feels like I applied glue to my eyelashes, they were clumpy and stiff looking. When I tried to remove the mascara, it looked like my eyelashes were falling off.

Overall: I did not like this mascara. It did not provide me with any volume. My eyelashes looked flat and clumpy. I actually got scared when I saw glue-like bits of mascara coming out of my eyelashes...I thought for a second that my eyelashes were coming off!! This mascara didn't work for me but it might work for others. I rate this product a 1 out of 5.

QT Diet - Day One & Two

I started my diet yesterday and so far so good. The instructions for this diet is as follows:

Take 2 AM pills before breakfast or before your workout.

Take 2 AM pills in between lunch and dinner.

Take 4 PM pills at night.

Yes, it's a lot of pills. That doesn't include the last pills you have to take 5 days before the 14-day system ends. For the last 5 days I'll be taking 10 pills per day!!!!

First of all, these pills give you lots of energy but what Diet pills don't?! I haven't been that hungry and I've also increased my water intake. I've been drinking plenty of water and moving around. Here is what my schedule has been like and how I've been feeling...

DAY ONE
AM - Took 2 pills in the morning before breakfast. I went jogging for 20 min. then got back home and did 3 sets of 15 in crunches. When I took the pills I had lots of energy and I kind of felt nasueas when I was jogging (it was either the pills or the lack of exercise).
Noon - Had brunch @ Ihop. I ordered the strawberry and banana pancakes and only ate half, which was 2 pancakes. I was pretty full.
3pm - I took the last 2 pills of the AM bottle. I had energy and was chasing around my 3 year old daughter. I was quite sweaty after 15 min.
Dinner - Had an apple with peanut butter b/c I was not hungry at all!
8pm - Took the 4 night pills. These are suppose to Detox all night!! These pills do not give you energy. However, I was not able to sleep. Guess I had too much on my mind.

DAY TWO
AM - Took the 2 pills around 6am and immediatley began to excersice. However, after 15 min. of exercising I felt nasueaus again!! I stopped excercising after that. But then my stomach cleansed itself out...LOL. I know GROSS but this diet is also a CLEANSER!!! So expect going to the toilet quite a few times.
Breakfast - Had a slice of wheat toast w/peanut butter.
Lunch - Had a Ceasar's Salad
3pm - Took the last 2 AM pills. I did not feel much energy but I did walk around for about 10 min.
*Day two is not over yet.

So far this is it for my diet update. I think it's going OK but I do notice that I don't get hungry and I get full a lot faster. I had to make myself eat something on DAY 1 but on DAY 2 I was hungry. I guess after releasing some "doo-doo" you get hungry. LOL. Also, the feeling nasueas part in the morning sucks. I hope after today I won't be feeling that. I have to drink a gallon of water a day!!! But drinking plenty of water is always a good thing.

P.S. By the way, I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow so I'll see if I lost any weight...I'm hoping at least a pound! But it may be too soon...

Yes, I will begin the QT diet on Sunday, Jan. 17.

I had a doctor's appt. today and weight in at 149lbs. I'm 5'4 and the doc. immediately said I had to lower that number (pointing at my weight).

My birthday is next month and hubby is taking me to Vegas. That is my motivation to lose the weight. I have all these pretty dresses to wear to Vegas but they fit super tight...no bueno!

So I'm hoping that this 14-day diet system will help me lose a few pounds and some inches off my waist and thighs. *Crossing Fingers*

I'm thinking of posting updates on the diet...like whether I'm losing weight/inches, how it makes me feel, etc. I'll think about it.

So any of you guys tried this diet?! If so, let me know.

New Year, Same Goals

My Knee High Boots

Here are the boots I ordered from AMICLUBWEAR. I really like them and they are super comfy. With these boots you are able to fold the top part to make them shorter. In the photo that is what I did. But if I unfold them they are up to my knees. I can't wait to wear these with a sweater dress, skirt with tights, jeans, or leggings.

I LOVE San Francisco, CA

The picture above was taken when we were driving into San Francisco from the East Bay.

Isn't it so pretty? It looks like a picture from a postcard. LOL.

The picture above is from Union Square.

They have an ice skating rink there but it was so full. I'll go ice skating next time since I work a couple blocks from there.

I love this time of the year. Sippin' on some hot cocoa, having the special holiday drinks from Starbucks such as the Eggnog Latte, winter wear, cuddlin' in front of the fireplace, all the yummy cookies, christmas decor, and so much more. It's the best time of the year. And did I mention the time of the year were I am broke!?! LOL.

I hope you all enjoy this time of the year with loved ones. I know the economy isn't so good right now and money can be tight but just remember that life is beautiful and when things get bad, they only get better.

In a Bow Mood

Ok, I know the title doesn't really make sense but I decided to do something creative...Making Bows!!! I got inspired after seeing a friend of mine make some cute bows for her daughter and I said "why not give it a try?!"

Here is my very first bow.

I know it's not the best looking bow and I still need a lot of practice but I thought I'd share with you my first creation. It was a lot of fun making and it took me almost an hour. Practice makes perfect!! I'll be posting more of my creations just for fun. If any of you make bows, I would really appreciate some tips.

Blush of the Month

For the month of November I've been using MAC's blush in MOCHA.

I think it's the perfect pinky rose color for everyday use.

This color would also look great on any skin tone.

NEW MOON

I must admit that I am a Twilight fan. I read all the books in a matter of a couple weeks. Loved them all but my least favorite book was New Moon. I won tickets to watch the movie before it hit theatres and I must say that it was a great movie. I absolutely loved it and I can't wait til Eclipse comes out in June 2010.

So who has read New Moon? Was anyone as angry as I was that Bella used Jacob so she wouldn't feel lonely and then she tells him she loves him when in fact she loves Edward. Like WTF?!? I don't know but that is the main reason why I hated New Moon because of damn Bella playing with Jacob's emotions. Anywho, just felt like venting.

Femme Fi reminds me of Rose Blanc e/s, Evening Aura is more of a light goldish color, and Enough Said is kinda like a peachy bronzey color with a little bit of goldish shimmer.

Hey lovely's...

I've been M.I.A for a bit and haven't done a recent post but I've just been so out of it lately. I'm going to be moving at the end of the month, I have this huge project at work, I have paralegal classes going on, and most importantly, I have my baby girl. So time to myself isn't much now-a-days. I hope I can get back to bloggin' and posting up some looks/hauls/reviews pretty soon.

BTW, I really want to change my blog template/scene. Do any of you know where I can get some really cool templates or even be able to design it myself. IONO but I just want something different....something more classy, yet sassy!!! LOL. Oh, and also where in the world can I get a banner that says my name and even a pic?!? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...
